These games will be used to begin professional development sessions. The idea is to make the environment as welcoming and as engaging as possible with informal group games. It will also help everyone get to know each other better!
Guess Who Game!
Everyone submit two facts about themselves in a shoebox.
Read out loud the two facts about one of the teachers.
Anyone willing to guess who it is, raise your hand!
Small prizes and incentives are at stake!
Just One Lie!
Throughout the session, participants ask each other questions and note them on a sticky note.
Every sticky note should have at least one lie written on it (along with the facts).
At the end of the session, the sticky notes are reviewed and people guess the lies!
Just One Word!
At the beginning of the session, everyone take turns briefly sharing how they currently feel.
They are only allowed to use ONE word!
Participants can say any word they want, as long as they can back it up with an explanation afterwards.
Murder Mystery!
At the beginning of the session, everyone gets a card.
The card has the details of their person. One card is secretly the murderer!
Throughout the session, we'll have breaks to ask each other questions.
We must figure out who the murderer is before the end of the session!
The Logo Lover Icebreaker!
Hand out name tags and writing utensils to each participant
Each participant writes their name down and draws a logo that they love.
Have everyone share why they chose their logo.
The Toilet Paper Icebreaker!
At the beginning of the session, everyone takes a turn briefly introducing themselves.
Toilet paper will be passed around. While the person is sharing, they must rip off a piece of toilet paper (how much they usually use).
After everyone introduces themselves, a second around starts.
During the second round, the number of squares each person took is the number of fun facts they have to reveal about themselves!
