Includes the purpose and value of the mentorship program.

Present the intended benefits and offerings of the program.

First year success is critical for teacher employment and classroom success.

The mentorship program will offer all of the following:

  • Valuable first-year teacher resources

  • Survival Kit and guide

  • Human resources

  • Social livelihood

  • Teacher-team engagement

  • “Go-To” educational advisor

 

Introduce the mentors to their respected new teachers.

  • Share contact information and schedules

 

Collaborate and create a plan for a successful first week of school!


Plan for first-week success!

Day 1

Rules and expectations clearly proclaimed, along with disciplinary actions that will result from classroom behavioral infractions.

Classroom routine and academic expectations. Classroom materials and room set-up.

Day 2

Begin instruction immediately. Demand attentiveness and focused learning.

Command the room with authority by being aware and responding to all students.

Day 3

Remind of classroom rules and behavioral expectations.

Assessment for learning to plan and differentiate upcoming lesson plans.

 

Set up professional development plan for the next five years!


Goals for first year:

  • Establish rapport with students and colleagues

  • Engage with community

  • Parental involvement

 

Alleviate any other concerns with valuable contact information and procedures
